The pillars at this
point are flush with the edge of the platform, because loading
for different trains was
to have occurred at either end of the double-length platform.
So along
with the 2 stub
tracks, there were 6 points trains could have loaded and unloaded at the station.
This
staircase was installed for the subway's routine
inspections.
