LUDLOW VIADUCT

The Ludlow Viaduct was built in 1914 to connect Ludlow Ave. directly with Knowlton's Corner, passing over the Mill Creek and the B&O main line. I-75 was built under it in 1960.   When it was built a few of the arch pier piles were not driven to the bedrock and the viaduct suffered severe structural problems and underwent repairs in the 1980's.   It was torn down around 1991 and replaced with a generic interstate highway overpass which is still called the Ludlow Viaduct even though it looks no different than any other overpass.
