2003 purple has faded to a light blue on much of the bridge, 2006 coat on left half of this photograph illustrates the constant repainting necessary to keep the bridge purple.

Purple People Bridge Climb walkway was installed in 2006.

Piers from 1956 approach remain for possible reuse by streetcars.
